When fishing for Steelhead in
Ohio on
Lake Erie
in the Conneaut area my favorite lure is the Little Cleo
casting spoon in Chrome / Blue
when in the clear water of Lake Erie . It's heavy enough to get great long casts, it sinks
fast and swims well on a
fast or slow retrieve. I like to cast them and troll them flat line.
When fishing for WALLEYE on
Pymatuning Reservoir . in
Ohio & PA my favorite
lure is the old style perch OR crawdad or pattern
size 1/4 oz HOT N TOT. I troll them flat line and
its been my #1 on Pymatuning Lake
For near 20 years.
When fishing for Smallmouth Bass in Ohio on
Lake Erie my favorite lure is a
standard silver Rapala Deep Runner.
I cast the 10-25 ft range around the break walls and
troll them flat line also. This lure has put many fish in the boat and no doubt
to me its #1

Everyone KNOWS how much I love
my Panther Martin
inline spinners for small stream brown trout! Here
in NY, I fish a black and yellow Panther Martin
in stained water to catch these "mini salmon"!
During the fall spawn, when fishing for
King Salmon in the Oak Orchard
Creek in Kent, NY, I fish an egg sack on a #4 hook
placed about 2 feet below a sinker
(the size of the sinker depends on the current at the time)
I toss the egg sack upstream, and let it float down stream
as far as I can
without invading the next fisherman's space. Talk about an awesome hook up!
Ya gotta love those kings!

When fishing for
largemouth bass in Ohio at
Timber Ridge Lake
my favorite lure is a
Bandit 1100 series crankbait in blue/chart
When fishing for
trout in Ohio at
Timber Ridge Lake
my favorite lure is a
black hair jig.
Unlike a rooster tail that you have to keep moving
this bait is given its action by the float. Jigging it back and letting it sit.
When fishing for
hybrid bass in Ohio at The
Ohio River & Greenup Locks & Dam.
my favorite lure is a
1/4 ounce lead head with a 3 inch Kalins grub in
Wally world color.
This bait is hard to beat in the fast moving discolored water of the
river its fat tail gives off a lot of thump to draw them in.

When fishing for steelhead on
Lake Erie in Ohio my favorite lure is a
reef runner ripstick,
trolled behind slide divers instead
of small boards.
I fish alone a lot and the fish would always seem to shake the boards and it was
a real pain to
retrieve them all the time. I let out about 80 ft of line, lock the slide diver
and put it
off the side of the boat and allow the diver to go about 6 feet deep near the
break walls.
It was the best steelhead fishing I've ever had.
