That time again

Postby logo » Sun Nov 02, 2008 12:31 am

Well one more year has come around and they stock the breeders again on Thanksgiving. Every year i tell myself i want to go but find an excuse not to. My biggest excuse is my health limitations. only being able to walk short distances makes hard to travel from the parking area to a decent spot. That and the mob scene everyone always talks about. Well this year I have a mobility scooter. Its being delievered on wed. now i can not only travel to distant points on the lake , i also have a comfy seat with me, LOL.
Im running out of excuses here. I did make it out with Shane this summer and really enjoyed myself.\
Shane, Downtime, are either of ou guys up to giving it a shot.?

Crab, I was talking about the special stocking they do in columbus on thanksgiving. They stock the breeder rainbow and hybrid golden trout from the hatchery. They run from 3-10lb, 16-24" If you know what youre doing and can brave the crowds it can be worthwhile. They are also stocked in Punderson. this year I cant find any mention of the Antrim stocking, the ODNR only mentios Punderson.

crab, they will be released on tues the 20th. Its a Thanksgiving tradition but by no means is that the only day to go. it usually takes a day or 2 for them to get orinted after the shock of transport butthey are still being caught for awhile after. This year they only release 450. If you see one they are hook jawed toothy monsters just like river salmon.

Yes Ive seen them, they turned them loose a few years ago at Timber ridge lake. I had to add a stinger hook to my 1/64 oumce jig to keep them on so they wouldnt come unhooked. They are monsters!

Not even a blurb this year! Did they do the stocked breeders. That should generate some excitement at least. 7 lb hooked monsters ought to cause some excitement here! I know the Cleveland gang usually makes so noise about punderson.
Well I havent lurked on OGF in a couple years.
Misfit, hey Rick, you hear anything
