One of my
favorite catfish baits that I use for channel catfish in rivers and the
MWCD lakes is also one of the easiest baits that there is to
make **Stawberry-Banana Chicken Livers**
Ingredients- two pints of FRESH chicken livers
One packet of Jell-O brand Gelatin
(strawberry-banana flavored
put 1/2 of the packet in each tub of liver, mix it around
good without tearing up the livers and let stand
in the fridge 2-3 days. use them just like you would any
other chicken livers and I GUARANTEE you will get
a lot more bites on these livers !!!
ANOTHER easy to make bait for
channel cats is :
**Strawberry-Banana Hot
Dogs**
Ingredients : One packet of CHEAP hot dogs
One packet of Strawberry Banana
Jell-O brand gelatin
Cut up the hot dogs into about 1 to 1 1/2 inch sections throw
them in a large plastic bowl with a lid.
Add enough water to cover the hot dogs and add the
strawberry-banana Jell-O, let them soak in the
fridge 2-3 day and put them on either a small treble hook or
standard 1/0 j-hook or smaller circle hook for
channel cats !!!
THESE BABIES WORK
!!!!

River Fishing Tips
Well I am NO professional but I have been cat fishing for quite some time!
To the best of my knowledge I will explain to you some of the
best ways that I know to catch fish
and where to catch them in the river.
LOCATION: the best places that I have
found to catch cats in the river are above and below riffles.
usually catfish feed upstream, find the holes above the
riffles right before the water starts to get shallow.
Rock bottom is the best for cats even though many people think
that flatheads feed primarily in MUD
bottom.
TIME: I have found that the best times
for cats are USUALLY from approx 8pm-midnight and from
approx 4am-730am. catfish seem to go on a feeding frenzy right
before sunrise.
BAIT: Depending on the time of year
there are TONS of different catfish baits that you can use to catch
fish in the river. Early in the spring I usually use night
crawlers A LOT, and Cut shad.
Anytime after early spring once the water warms up a little I
mainly use Live Bait for flatheads,
and cut shad or liver for channels. Creek Chubs as big as you
can find are the best Flathead bait,
smaller chubs 3-5in are very good channel cat baits as well.
Hopefully this might help some of the guys on here that don't
catfish much or that are just starting
to catfish.
